Sprout — Privacy Policy

The short version: The Sprout app keeps your family’s data on your device and shows no ads inside the app. To understand which ads bring families to Sprout, the app uses Meta’s measurement tools — and only shares an advertising identifier with Meta if you grant permission when asked. We only ever share the minimum needed to run the things you request — process a purchase, or answer an “Ask Sprout” question. Children never provide personal information, and we never share a child’s information with advertisers.

Who Sprout is for

Sprout is a parenting and kid‑confidence app. A parent or guardian is the account holder and sets up the experience; children use a PIN‑gated “Kid Zone.” Sprout is intended for use by families together and is not directed at children as the purchasing or account‑holding user.

Information we collect

Stored on your device. When you set up Sprout you may enter your name and email and your child’s first name and age. This, along with your progress (stars, lessons, game activity, settings), is kept in your device’s local storage and is not transmitted to us — with one exception: if you start a trial or subscription, a hashed (irreversible) form of your email may be sent to Meta for advertising measurement, as described under “Advertising measurement.” Your child’s name and age are never transmitted.

Purchases. If you subscribe in the iOS app, the purchase is handled by Apple’s In‑App Purchase. We use RevenueCat, Inc. to verify and manage your subscription status; RevenueCat receives purchase information and an app‑generated identifier solely to keep your subscription active across your devices. This is used for app functionality only — never for advertising, and it is not used to track you.

“Ask Sprout.” If a parent uses the optional “Ask Sprout” helper, the message you type is sent to our AI provider (Anthropic) to return a lesson recommendation. Please don’t include sensitive personal details; the feature is for guidance, not diagnosis. Children do not have access to it.

What children see and do

The Kid Zone is fully scripted. Children never talk to an AI, cannot enter free text that is sent anywhere, and are shown only pre‑written content shipped inside the app. We do not knowingly collect any personal information from children, there are no ads shown to children, and no child’s information is ever shared with Meta or any advertiser.

Advertising measurement

We advertise Sprout on platforms such as Meta (Facebook and Instagram). To understand which ads actually bring families to Sprout — so we don’t waste money on ads that don’t work — the app includes Meta’s measurement tools and reports a small set of events: that the app was installed and opened, that an account was created, that a free trial started, and that a subscription began. The app shows no ads to you; these tools only measure the effectiveness of the ads you may have seen elsewhere.

Your choice (App Tracking Transparency). When you first use the app, iOS asks your permission to track. If you decline, no advertising identifier is shared with Meta — measurement then relies only on Apple’s privacy‑preserving SKAdNetwork, which does not identify you. If you allow it, an advertising identifier may be shared with Meta to match a subscription back to an ad.

Subscription attribution. When a trial or subscription occurs, our servers may send Meta a hashed (irreversible) form of the account email and an app‑generated identifier, together with the plan and price, so the subscription can be attributed to an ad. We never send Meta your raw email, and we never send any information about your child.

Our website

Separately from the app, our sign‑up website (alenlor.com) uses standard advertising and measurement tools (including Meta’s advertising tools) and, if you request your plan, stores the name and email you submit so we can follow up. Payments taken on the website are processed by Stripe.

Who we share data with

Data deletion

Because your app data lives on your device, you can delete all of it any time from Settings → Reset app data, or by uninstalling the app. To request deletion of anything held by our service providers (such as a website sign‑up or a subscription record), email support@alenlor.com and we will handle it promptly.

Children’s privacy (COPPA)

Sprout is designed to comply with the U.S. Children’s Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. Any information about a child (such as a first name or age) is entered by a parent, stays on the device, and is never used for advertising or shared with advertisers. If you believe a child has provided us personal information, contact us and we will delete it.

Changes to this policy

If we change how Sprout handles data (for example, by adding accounts or cloud sync), we will update this policy and describe the change before it takes effect.
